Despite the fact that the fire at 81 – 83 Essex Street spreads to 85 – 91 Essex Street and 1 – 9 Edinboro Street, there are no fatalities. The action is captured by a the film crew of the CBS show 48 Hours, which was compiling a national show entitled “Fire in America.”
